The CFA teaches Colac School-Based Community Services Trainees

Colac Area Health and Colac Otway Shire Council Certificate III Community Services school-based trainees had a guest speaker at their training session today.

Niki Habibis from the CFA spoke to the trainees about community development and why the community is so important to the CFA.  Niki discussed how important it is to ensure the CFA keep the community interested in volunteering and also in educating people on the importance of the CFA and similar organisations in the community. 

Niki’s knowledge assisted trainees with their ‘Work within a community development framework’ and ‘Work effectively in the community sector’ units as part of their school-based traineeship to give them a real life perspective on the importance of what they are learning outside of the organisations they are working for.
