Apprentice wages and conditions
Apprentice wages and conditions are derived from the relevant modern award. The rate of an apprentice wage, including a first-year apprentice wage, depends on the length of the apprenticeship and how much training the apprentice has completed. An apprentice usually receives a percentage of the qualified tradesperson’s rate. This percentage increases as the apprentice progresses through the apprenticeship.
