Half Price Car Registration Scheme for Apprentices – Now underway!
January 25, 2016More than 260 eligible Victorian apprentices have taken up the scheme since it launched on 1 January, receiving a 50 per cent discount on their vehicle’s registration fee and Transport Accident Charge.
This means that an apprentice paying standard registration on a light vehicle in metropolitan Melbourne can now save $385.70 per year and apprentices in regional Victoria, including Bendigo and Ballarat can save $330.20.
Bricklayers, carpenters, joiners, electricians and plumbers are among those eligible if their employer can verify that the use of their vehicle is an essential part of their work.

Applicants are encouraged to apply for the discount as soon as they receive their registration renewal notice.
