New School Based Conservation & Land Management Trainees – Woori Yallock
April 17, 2015School Based Certificate II Conservation & Land Management Traineeship Program
Victorian Group Training signed up the 2015 group of School Based Certificate II Conservation & Land Management trainees this week at the Woori Yallock Farm School – Host Employer Greening Australia. This is the 2nd year this program has been run at this location.
The 6 students from Healesville High School will work 1 day a week at the Woori Yallock Farm School and study Certificate II Conservation & Land Management. Workplace supervisor/trainer Peter Preuss instructs and guides the students in their learning in a very hands on way. The students benefit greatly from learning in the classroom and then being able to go outside and put into practice what they’ve learned.
The trainees will learn about observing and reporting plants and/or animals, seed collection and propagation, weeds and vermin, maintaining cultural places and participating in environmentally sustainable work and much more.
We will keep you posted with their progress throughout the program.
