We’d like to congratulate Eljah Reid on the completion of his apprenticeship undertaking Certificate III in Carpentry.

Elijah has been a great asset to the team at @simpkin_building . His hard work, attention to detail and skills have been a standout through his apprenticeship. This is no surprise as he was lucky to learn from some of the best carpenters in town in Nick and Lachie Simpkin, both of which are former apprentices of Victorian Group Training.

Congratulations Elijah! We wish you all the best in the building and construction indsutry, and a massive thanks to Ian, Nick, Lachie and the team at Simpkin Building for their ongoing support of apprentices throughout the Colac region.

We are currently looking for someone to complete a Certificate III Business Administration traineeship with the family owned and operated business – @keyhrservices at their Colac location. This is an exciting opportunity to commence a rewarding career in a dynamic industry.

Key HR is a leading Tier 1 provider of powerline infrastructure construction and maintenance services. They work across the Victorian distribution network supporting essential projects that deliver safe and reliable energy to customers.

We are looking for someone who:
- has a strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, SharePoint, Teams, Planner, Forms, Outlook).
- is highly organised with excellent attention to detail, time management, and prioritisation skills.
- has exceptional written and verbal communication with a professional approach to customer service.
- is proactive problem solver with critical thinking skills and a positive, can-do attitude.
- is a collaborative team player who builds strong relationships and adapts well to new challenges.

👏𝐖𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐧 𝐈𝐧 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐬 – 𝐌𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐢-𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐲 𝐏𝐫𝐞-𝐀𝐩𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓 👏

Throughout Term 2 & 3, Victorian Group Training once again ran our Women In Trades – Multi-Industry Pre-Apprenticeship Program for 2025.

The program provides young women, currently completing their secondary education, the opportunity to experience a “hands on” trial in a range of vocational trade occupations.

We had 35 secondary school students participate this year. All participants were able to gain their construction induction card (white card), complete multiple days of work experience, participate in career and industry information sessions and be trained and inducted in OHS.

We’d like to congratulate Hamish Davis – Burn on the completion of Certificate III Electrotechnology with Host Employer Protex Water.

Hamish has been a standout throughout his time as an apprentice. His hard work, willingness to help others and give everything a go attitude have been some of his most commendable traits.

Congratulations to Max Wilson on the completion of his Certificate III Civil Construction traineeship with Host Employer Colac Otway Shire.

Max has been a stand out throughout his traineeship. Like a sponge, Max has soaked up all the information provided from great supervisors, coworkers and his certificate training. This has led to Max successfully completing his qualification and moving into a full-time position with the Colac Otway Shire.

Congratulations Max, your hard work and dedication to your trade has been commendable.

A huge thanks to the team at the Colac Otway Shire for their ongoing support of apprentices and trainees throughout Colac and surrounding regions.
